Labradorite: This is a variety of Feldspar known as Plagioclase Feldspar. Labradorite exhibist "labradorescence" which means the ability to reflect prismatic colors. The most important deposits are found in Canada, Finland & Madagascar. This top quality specimen comes from the Tulear Province in Madagascar producer of some of the finest and brightest material available. Intense flashes of brilliant blues offset by layers of gold and green dominate this stone in a myriad of color. Whether observed undder bright lights or softer ambient lighting, the dancing sheets of iridescent colors will always delight with their magical ever-changing movements. The artist has captured the elusive and ever changing colors in fabulous work of art.
