Pyrite Coated Ammonite Fossil on Table: This outstanding Ammonite specimen from the Volga River, Russia dates back to the Jurassic period about 100 million years ago. This unusual fossil is coated with Iron Pyrite or "fools gold" and features sparkling Pyrite lined geode cavities. This specimen is one of a rare black variety. Only one in a hundred boasts this color. This is truly a museum quality specimen with Certificated of Authenticity included. We are proud to offer this premier specimen in this one of a kind fine art table. The table surface is a poured bar-top resin which is the toughest on the market today. Also we have protected the surface with a high quality carnauba wax, buffed to a high polish. Sensible care should include all the precautions of a glass top table which would protect it from scratches. Setting a wine glass on it won't hurt but don't slide a rough bottomed base across it.
