New Mexico Deming Agate: Luna County in southern New Mexico is home to a rich area of Agate and Thunderegg deposits. This specimen is from an agate seam that occurred in the volcanic deposits of lava which erupted from a nearby volcano. The material coming from this area called the Big Diggins is quite distinctive, showing a variety of Thundereggs and seam agate. This specimen exhibits a layer of lovely blue agate as well as different colored structures of plume and moss agate with areas of silvery Sagenite. This specimen gave the artist lots of different structures and colors to develop into a fascinating and beautiful work of art. This piece would grace the walls of any collector or any appreciator of fine and rare minerals.
