Zimbabwe Petrified Wood: This spectacular slice of fossil wood is from Zimbabwe, where beautiful and very rare green petrified wood is found. This is a magnificent example of such wood with green patches interrupted with other fantastic shades of teal and blue, colored by Chromium and Strontium. It has a fascinating crystal pocket with Druzy Quartz crystals that sparkle like tiny lights. The dark areas enhance this pocket and make it hard to avoid its hypnotic attraction. To set all this off and accentuate the round treelike shape is the Butterscotch colored perimeter with the texture of petrified tree bark. This is truly a museum specimen the likes of which are rarely available on the open market. We were lucky to find that our supplier had a small log. A couple of these slices had already wound up in his private collection.
